I needed a work bench, so off to the google machine I went and found Hammer Zone. Specifically these two pages:

One important thing to note here is that Mr. Maki used a lot of scrap materials he had laying around. This is great, unless you are like me and live in an apartment and don’t have all kinds of materials laying around. That said, I think what I ended up paying was still pretty reasonable. Considering I didn’t have ANY materials laying around. I also opted to use a couple more expensive versions of the various components. I am sure the cheaper siblings would have been fine and I could have saved a few bucks.

I followed the guide pretty much to the letter making a few modifications here and there to suit my tastes/needs. I have been using it for months and have been very happy with it. I can’t wait to get out of an apartment and into a place where I can have a REAL shop!

QTY 1: 4×8 Plywood – $18.96
QTY 6: 2×4 – $18.84
25′ Ext Cord – $21.74
15′ 12-2 wire – $9.87
Outlet boxes 3 @ 0.43 – $1.29
Outlet covers 3 @ 0.46 – $1.38
20A Outlets 3 @ 7.27 – $21.81
Wirenuts (100) $9.42
Total cost: $103.31 + tax + about ~4 hours.

I don’t remember exactly how long it took me to do this but I didn’t spend a lot of time on it and I didn’t try to rush through it either.

Pictures after the jump!

So I am not a Java programmer, that is VERY fair to say. However I understand it just fine. I have programmed in C, C++, and C#. All of which basically shares the same sort of  “syntax” family as Java. What I don’t understand is why Java (or Eclipse) is such a pain.
